SSRR PB at Brighstone, Isle of White
15/05/2010
Hi all,
As a new field tester to Ocean Fresh this is my first time writing a report so here goes.
Last Sunday, 9th may I visited my local fisheries Island Fish Farm in Brighstone, Isle of Wight, which is 0.75acres in size with a good stock of 10lb + fish. The day was overcast when I arrived with my fishing partner Les, we soon set up nd put out some Scopex Squid and Robin Red 18mm boilies in our chosen swims. I chose to place my lines around the back of the island in shallow water and on the right hand bank tight to the margin, within about 2 foot, while Les put his under a willow tree on the far bank. I opted for back leads with flying back leads to pin everything down. It wasn’t too long before I had a screaming run and the first fish of the day was banked, a cracking 20lb common carp, even more satisfying as it was a new PB for me.

Les was next to catch and had a lovely 17lb Mirror. As the weather improved and the sun came out the fishing got better and over the course of the day 15 carp came out, all over 15lb in weight, including a double bag of 20lb common and 17lb mirror.

We kept topping the bait up over the course of the day and tried out the new bungy rigs which had arrived the day before. The fisheries we go to close at dusk so fishing times are limited from 9am to 8pm and within the last hour my alarm screamed off again, I bent into what felt like a very nice fish and a hard fight was rewarded after about 10 mins with another new PB, a 21lb 13oz Mirror carp was on the bank.

What a way to end the session, a day I will remember for a long time. Thanks to ocean fresh for allowing me to be a field tester and setting my goals higher this season.
Tight lines
